Puesto #1 Es una canción enigmática que detrás de su letra guarda una gran historia de amor y valentía de una pareja en el Muro de Berlín.
Se la considera un himno esperanzador y de anhelos en tiempos difíciles.
Su letra esta basada en una historia real: Se dice que mientras que David Bowie se desintoxicaba de su adicción a la cocaína en Berlín en el año 1977, una imagen le inspiró para componer esta canción. Un día se asomó a una ventana y observó una pareja sentada en un banco justo debajo del Muro que solía dividir la ciudad en dos. De ahí imaginó el cantante la historia de un amor prohibido, imposible separado por aquella muralla creada para separar lo inseparable. De igual forma pensó que, al menos durante un día y seguramente arriesgando la vida, habían conseguido burlar el sistema de vigilancia y vivir su apasionado romance.
