Escuchaba esta canción en bucle en mi adolescencia sin entender ni papa (solo "my mother, my father") pero había algo en ella que me ponía la piel de gallina. Exactamente igual que ahora, que ha cobrado una dimensión todavía más profunda al conocer los problemas de identidad que sufrió Dolores O'Riordan toda su vida. Y que acabaron con ella. Ode To My Family no es solo esa oda a la familia que apunta el título, sino un grito (y qué grito) ahogado por la imposibilidad de encajar en el mundo, por la imposibilidad de dejar de ser quien eres aunque seas un infierno? Y nadie, tú mismo el que menos, te comprenda.
